The sun is bright,—the air is clear,

태양은 빛나고 대기는 청명한데

 

The darting swallows soar and sing,

창공을 나는 제비들이 지저귀며 노래하네

 

And from the stately elms I hear

위용을 자랑하며 늘어선 느릅나무 사이로

 

The blue-bird prophesying Spring.

봄을 노래하는 파랑새 소리 들리네

 

So blue yon winding river flows,

저기 굽이치며 흐르는 푸른 강

 

It seems an outlet from the sky,

하늘로부터 흘러내리는 것 같네

 

Where waiting till the west wind blows,

서풍이 불 때까지 기다리는 그 곳

 

 

The freighted clouds at anchor lie.

뭉게구름이 닻을 내리네

 

All things are new ;—the buds, the leaves,

모든 것이 새롭네:- 새싹이 돋고 새잎이 난

 

That gild the elm-tree's nodding crest,

느릅나무의 우듬지가 반짝 거리네

 

And even the nest beneath the eaves ;

처마 밑의 새 둥지까지 반짝이지만

 

There are no birds in last year's nest !

작년의 둥지에 새들은 없네

 

All things rejoice in youth and love,

세상 만물이 젊음과 사랑을 축복하고

 

The fullness of their first delight!

처음 겪는 기쁨이 충만하네

 

And learn from the soft heavens above

저 위 부드러운 하늘로부터 배우네

 

The melting tenderness of night.

밤으로 녹아내리는 다정한 사랑

For oh, it is not always May!

아! 5월은 영원하지 않으니

 

Enjoy the Spring of Love and Youth,

맘껏 누려라! 사랑과 젊음의 봄을

 

To some good angel leave the rest;

For Time will teach thee soon the truth,

시간은 곧 그대에게 진실을 일러주리니
