| The epitome of exclusivity, the ‘Pride of Africa’ train has all you need to live in fine style as Africa’s splendid scenery unfolds outside the windows. Every modern comfort has been carefully incorporated into the classic coaches, seamlessly fitting in alongside the handsome wood panelling and period Edwardian features.
The magnificent sleeping cars have the most spacious train accommodation anywhere in the world: Pride of Africa
Deluxe Suites measure 118 sq ft while the Royal Suites take up half a carriage (172 sq ft). Both types have a lounge area and en suite facilities, plus a writing desk, personal safe and refrigerated bar. Room service is available around the clock.
Meticulous planning goes into ensuring that all meals on board the ‘Pride of Africa’ are of the highest quality, as befits the splendid Victorian-style restaurant cars in which they are served. The chefs take great care to use local ingredients, and traditional dishes such as game are a speciality. Fine South African wines accompany the meals.
The Pride of Africa also includes a sumptuously appointed lounge car, perfect for socialising or simply relaxing after the day’s programme. Please note that we spend the southern half of our journey travelling on board the Pride of Africa and north of Dar Es Salaam we travel by specially configured private aircraft and a five-star Nile cruiser for the northern part of our epic voyage. |
